About the PRnographer

Hi, I’m Lisa.

I begin each day with a good meal, a good song, and a good idea. I’m fascinated by people, places, things…yup, that means everything!

I completed my undergrad in Biological Anthropology (primatology and paleontology mainly — give me a skeleton, I can tell you its sex, age at death, and reason for dying if it’s pathological,) Zoology and Botany.  Before doing another degree I worked with the U of T and the Toronto Zoo doing a project studying gorilla behaviour and the captive environment.  Following that rewarding work, I completed a Masters in Forest Conservation, again at the University of Toronto, which taught me such a broad range of subjects and issues, I wouldn’t even know where to begin listing them.

After completing my Masters degree I moved to Asia to work for about a year.  Based out of Thailand, but going in and out of Hong Kong, China, Cambodia – to name just a few — living in Asia was one of the most valuable experiences of my life.  (Side note: my Dad also lives in Hong Kong, so in a sense it’s another home.)

Upon returning to Canada, I entered the field of PR and communications.  I am currently completing a post-degree certificate in Corporate Communications and Public Relations at Centennial College, in preparation for my campaign for world domination.

Exciting projects?  In Event Management we had to fully plan and execute an original event.  Did we ever;  ”original” doesn’t do my team’s event justice — check out mandate, Toronto’s first exclusively gay speed dating event! I have just begun working with Soraya Mangal (Mangal Master Public Relations) securing me the most exciting projects in my portfolio to date: aiding this publicity queen, I will be doing the publicity plans for Edwin (former front-man of the band I Mother Earth, platinum with both the band and his solo career) and Low Level Flight (whose singer Ryan Malcolm, was the first-ever Canadian Idol winner!)

What does the future hold?  I just began working on a side-project which, if all goes well, will take me around the world doing truly meaningful work — I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but check back in a few months, the ball should be rolling by then.

I enjoy pretty much everything, so after graduation I plan on looking at all my options.  In general however, I can say it will be in either technological, entertainment or fashion PR.  Ultimately, I will work for corporations helping them to become more socially and environmentally responsible.  It’s what’s important to me, and everything in my life has lead up to it.

Enough about me, let’s chat about you.
